LUCKY
7 IN FOURCHON
KC.com Staff
Fishing the Gulf can be as hot as a frying pan,
or it could turn off like a light. Looking back, you can see
a clear trend of teams that have performed well in this "Land
of Giants" and those that have struggled miserably. Since
there aren't too many Pro anglers from Fourchon, we have compiled
a list of 7 visiting SKA Yamaha Pro Kingfish Tour anglers that
should follow up their Fort Pierce finish with an excellent
showing in stop #2.
1. In the Rough: Captained by David
Van Lent, this team has done incredibly well in the fertile
waters of the Northern Gulf. With a Division 7 title and a
win in Venice in '04, this team demonstrated why they are
currently ranked number 4 in the World. It is now time to
see if the In the Rough crew can work their magic, yet again.
2. Crawgator: Year after year Captain
Bill Butler and his crew win tournaments in these same waters.
Whether the fishing is on fire or slowly moving, this team
will find good fish. Look for this team to weigh in big for
Fourchon.
3. Kwazar Wolf: What do you get when
you put two of the best Captains in the sport on one boat?
A super team! Both Marcus Kennedy and Stacy Wester are extremely
knowledgeable in this area and seem to always know where the
fish are. In 2004 both team Big Bad Wolf and team Kwazar finished
in the top 12 in Venice. This team will definitely have the
most eyes on them come the tournament days.
4. Fish Dancer: Last time Fourchon
hosted the Yamaha SKA Professional Tour, Jeff Dunbar and team
Fish Dancer took home the top prize. Much like many other
teams, Fish Dancer will be inFourchon
early scouting for another 61 pound smoker.

53 pound fish in the cards for the crew of Team Fountain
Cabela's? |
5. Team Fountain Cabela's: Last year
at the Pro stop in Venice, Team Fountain Cabela's caught the
largest fish out of the Pro ranks. If they can find another
53 pounder, or two, they will be well on their way to an Angler
of the Year title.
6. The Chase: When it comes to
catching big time kings in big time tournaments, not too many
teams can say that they have caught more than the 2001 Angler
of the Year. Look for The Chase to steer their Donzi to the
top of the leader board.
7. Lured Away: This team based out
of Texas has historically done well in Division 7, finishing
tenth last year. Expect their knowledge of this area to carry
over into big results for this 2nd Pro tournament.
