Chum,
Thanks for the feedback.

It's definitely possible to do - I saw the current Mississippi state record brought in @ the 1999 SKA Nationals by Dan Abshire. Dan returned the following May to fish the Kingmaster and scaled a 61 lbr! Then Ed Mechella brought in a 63.5 lbr. @ the 2002 SKA Nationals. You just never know when fishing over there!
All the best,
Tom Hilton

Tom what a great idea to help others in the Gulf area. Team Fountain has found the infomation you provide our teams that extra edge need to be winners. The factory team could not stay on top without the products that are supplied be you and others. We look foward to try to collect on the bounty. Again thanks for the great product.

Mr. Maus,
I appreciate your endorsement.

It would give me great pleasure to see one of the Team Fountain boats claim that $100,000!

All the best,

Sounds great but I have a few questions.

Is the bounty paid on IGFA rules or SKA rules? The 2 sets of rules are very different in some ways.

IGFA rules do not allow for trailering or dangling hooks i.e. stinger rigs. Most SKA guys fish for them this way.

Also IGFA does not allow the use treble hooks unless the are attached to a lure. Most SKA guys use treble hooks with live baits.

Just some food for thought. I would hate to see someone (especially ME) think they won it but did not follow the rules Crying or Very sad .

Kingfishhead,
Thanks for the feedback - I believe the IGFA rules here apply to the fighting of the fish. Of course fishermen will be using stingers and trebles when fishing for kings, so we will further clarify this aspect of SKA/IGFA rules this week so that there is no possibility of confusion.
Thanks again for bringing this issue up.

While you are at it check on a 12 foot gaff exclusion. IGFA is 8 Foot Max.
Great idea and thanks for your support.

HHBC,
Thanks for your feedback. For simplicity's sake, we are taking the position that The IGFA Rules only apply regarding the handling of the rod - someone can't hook the fish then hand the rod off to another angler. We will defer the rest of the rules to the Official SKA Rules of Angling, and what the official Official State of Mississippi record keeping authority states. Treble hooks and stingers will be allowed.

We will have all of these details spelled out in their entirety on the website and at the Nationals well before November 19, 2004 so that there will be no confusion.

All the best,
Tom Hilton

Tom:

Team FishDancer has several of the Hilton charts and atlas products -- these are very detailed and we have come to count on them when we fish the gulf. We have our 61.1 which won last season's Fourchon pro event prominently marked on the appropriate pages. Will the web product be extended beyond the GOM and include any Florida, SC or NC geographies?

Jeff,
Thanks for your feedback. Yes, we are working on 4 additional regions extending up the east coast to the Carolinas. These should be available before the end of the year.

Tom,

I went to you website to order a set of charts and it would not take my order - an error code popped up. I tried emailing you but haven't gotten a response. Please check it out and let me know what I need to do.

Thanks

Sorry, as it seems there is a problem with the storefront right now - I just went in to test order and it kicked me out.
Will get back to you later today after I figure this out.
