Tom, Nice promotion. The rules state "Territory restricted to waters eligible for State of Mississippi record consideration". Many boats will go to the west delta off La., I guess that is ok. That is where Dan caught his fish in 1999.

Tsunami and Kingfish Dave,
First, let me just say that it would be the greatest thing since sliced bread if someone were to win the $100,000 - we REALLY do want someone to win it as that would be the best advertising we could ever wish for.
That said, rest assured that the rules will be straight-forward and will follow common-sense rules of angling. In a nutshell, since it's a SKA tournament, then SKA rules apply. Also, since a state record is involved, the rules of the Mississippi state authorities will apply as well, and will take precedence.
Since most state records do not allow handing-off the rod, that is the only foreseeable difference between the state and SKA rules (SKA allows handing-off to junior anglers, etc.)
We are in the process of crossing our t's and dotting our i's regarding the rules, which will be posted on the website www.hiltonsoffshore.com in the next week or so.
All the best,
Tom Hilton |
